The purpose of The Sterlington Memorial for the Unborn will be to remember the children lost to abortion. It is the hope of those involved in this endeavor that the victims of abortion will never be forgotten but that both the women and men hurt will find peace, forgiveness, and closure.
The proposed site for The Sterlington Memorial for the Unborn is located in the center of the Town of Sterlington in what is now an empty lot directly across from the Post Office and on the same street as the Sterlington Police Department. The commemorative garden will be landscaped to provide a serene setting where those who have experienced the pain associated with abortions may come to spend time in prayer or reflection.
The budget will need to include funds for the initial creation and landscaping of the memorial park plus continuous maintenance and regular upkeep expenses. The Sterlington Memorial for the Unborn will be privately funded and is therefore NOT a charitable organization or 501(c)(3).
Donations will not be tax-deductible expenses, however, it is the belief of those involved that other benefactors and donors may wish to have an opportunity to help with the creation of this lasting legacy and memorial.
Donations can be made to honor a lost child and comfort can be found in knowing that the creation of The Sterlington Memorial for the Unborn will be a testament in that child’s name for years to come. As parents and children pass by on their way to and from the local public school at the end of this street, there will be a visible reminder of the children lost to abortion. As residents make their way from the village to the Town Hall or other places within the Town of Sterlington, they will pass by The Sterlington Memorial for the Unborn and be reminded of the pain in the lives of all those affected by abortion and the peace and forgiveness that can be found in Jesus Christ.
Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who guards your life know it? Will He not repay each person according to what he has done?
Proverbs 24:11-12
